Visiting with Audiology Specialist today.

I been gone to audiology specialist for many years in my life because I born DEAF, and it becomes my habit annually or so. Why I had a visit with them is because of Social Security Administration wanted to prove I am DEAF, so I went there today.

Many years, I always knew I am deaf, but my left ear is hard of hearing. My right ear is very deaf! I never notice anything different with any noises but just raise my hand when hear the noise. Hear on left then on right then on both. Always same as old habits. Headphone and Bone Conduction Headphone.

Today, I went to ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat) office. My SSA is paying for my attendant and take test. Of course, I told them I am deaf but that was demands so I have nothing with them.

Anyway, when I got the call and lead me to that audiology office. She asked me some questions and I answered. I told her that my left ear is hoh and right ear is deaf. She took focus on my left ear first before use my right ear. The famous audiology building box, I LOVED it. LOL. On headphone, I listened on my left ear. She voiced and reported her on words that I would understand clearly. Not much words I would understand. My right ear silences.

Next, she wanted me to hear some of high, middle, or low frequencies on my left ear. I raise my hand. Then use my right ear, raise my hand. Both, same thing.

She asked words on my right ear and heard like confused, unstable, or rattled. I cannot understand those words. She took the headphone to bone conduction headphone. Test on my right ear, not hear anything but felt vibrate on behind my left ear. She took bone conduction headphone and asked me to go doctor’s office for checkup or talking with him. Whatever SSA has demands for him to write that I am true business deaf. Sigh.

I had my hearing aids with me all the time but when I do not wear them then I am actually DEAF. No sounds…. nothing!

More to write on next article about my deafness. See you later.
