I was reading something about lawsuit ADA with court and it come to me because some of people not knowing about it. That disability person only reads disability peoples comments and act up for them. What about disability person goes there and see it herself/himself?
Mostly I see a lot of wheelchair disability complain against hotels, beaches or restaurants. There is no ramp, no wide restroom for wheelchair gets through or runaways for walk to beach. It becomes cost lot for them to build ones and the owners do not want to spend more for the disability accessible available. The hotels do have disability room for them but many times, rooms been filled and forced normal travelers to sleep in disability rooms on the days they spend on. It becomes hot topic about those issues. One room, I spend in was disability room but no accessible because of failing flashing, doorbell or alarm not working. It was frustrating for sure.
I have been gone to deaf conferences and few disabilities travelers took disability rooms and left plenty of normal rooms for disability travelers who spend on. Think about it. I met about 300 deaf people among the conferences and impossible for them to spend on regular rooms and required disability rooms. If they would provide them accessible equipment enough for them then should be fine. One year before, I went to deaf cruise and about 3000 people among the ship. I wondered if they have enough accessible equipment and yes, they did! Really appreciate and made them happy. That is simple easy for them and enjoy us advantage.
October is Disability Month and still fighting for everyone who is struggling with. Job, Traveling, Advantage events, Restaurants, or public out somewhere.
Just leave my coin lay on the table….
