I just learned from one of my co-workers, that make me feel pisses.  I was email to her and supervisor about deaf and what they should be do for their ears.  Somehow, he think that all co-workers have to help with deaf  like disabled person.   I was explain that we, deaf need ears to lead to because we are deaf.  We use our eyes for our ears.  So my co-worker was questioned and never ask me til now that deaf is disabled as the supervisor speak.  I was so pissed off and almost could blew out at her for that word “disabled”.  I was puzzled after they helped me with applications processing and not recall that I am good enough aware about it.  Today, they heard me winning the applications and gave me thumbs up or clapping for me like I am handicapped or disabled person.  Sheesh!  I had explained that to her and pretty sure she will voice for me.   We, deaf are not handicapped or disabled because we are walking, running, driving, and physically movements.    If we are disabled that mean we can’t have any physically movements.    If we are handicapped then it will be more like sit in wheelchair.

When I was work with Healthcare company and had deaf co-worker.  She told me about this supervisor’s situation about deaf community is not good.  He kept looking over our heads and our work we done.  He did well with me for being get his attention about work duty.  My co-worker was not working for him for long time.
Now I am working for private service for Healthcare and my supervisor look over my head.  I not allow that happens again so I have to get his attention to see what I done with duty.  Okay, I was doing the application processing and keep going on.  He think I went to so much slow, my co-worker was checking with me to see if I did any slow.  The answer is no, just going on as fast I can.  All of my co-workers do same thing as I do.  Other reason is problem is hard to keep awake for processing because it take us look over screen again and again.   It seem slow to us.  My supervisor know it but want to look over my head.

I had issues with those vehicles that fog light at night or dark.  They never understand the fog light should be off while driving on road.  The fog light is for fog days or raining days.   They should had use it for those days.  I wish I would give flashing on them to take it off but they not understand.   I had fog light on my car or truck, not use it unless fog or rain days.  Those vehicles fog light really bother me and rear mirror.  Dealer or drivers should know about it and drive smart.

When I was in some training with others about giving session.  I had 4 workers with me and discussing about how to give the lecture in session by power point slides.  We have view of slides and tells how or what to say in session training.  So I was asked to put myself involve with the session training.  I just throw in that how to speak in sign language with training.    In your mind, I work with hearing and no one is deaf.  They had no idea how to make this work so one of my co worker speak out that I would interpreting along with their lectures in session training.  I was thinking that I am Deaf Interpreter, not CDI?   I have not certified as deaf interpreter yet.    I can do that with my company offers if they approves that.   If all deaf find me unprofessional CDI then I have some issues with them.  Which is ouch!   If all deaf has understand that I had trained with my company and allow me to interpreting for them…..

at first day of job, I come and everyone was friendly with all different characters around me.  I met few ladies on my cubic row, they know I am deaf.  One day, I had teaching ASL to my team and knew what will happen next.  More daily in other weeks, chat become less and less.  No one chat over my cubic where I sits.   I had couple ladies next to my cubic row, they become friend and chat alot.   They always have trouble to use the sign language, I already teached.  They do same thing daily in other weeks. It become more frustrating about sign language more sloppy and easy forget the right sign.  I not want to teach agaim because that keep changing my mind of my teaching of ASL.  They dont care about signing but want to chat with me more.  Which I should have to make this communication better? 

Something tell me about have education about deaf and people need to knowledge about.    I was more like “nothing is going on” till my mom said about video phone.   It catches me to pop my lightbulb light!   That!  The education of phone calls is new adding to job skill.  

When I had a job interview that requires phone calls within administrative skills.   They asked me about about phone calls, I never think of videophone in my  brainstorm.   I should have saved the word for next time at the interview.  

I could tell you in the spread of word about deaf can use the VP for their business and job requests for that skills.

Also, I attended to the workshop at the same conference weekend.  I had learned about history of deaf and 1800s.  I will add that to my previous post for next book with diversity issue.

One person hits me a lot, she is CODA (child of deaf adult) herself.  She was born in deaf world and use sign language all her life.   She has no clues about hearing world till she entered adulthood.   She was home-schooled and social with deaf people.  She thinks she is deaf magnets and can hear, use the voice with other coda.   She was so proud to show up as deaf but sign language interpreter as professional.

There is no TV with closed captioned, no TTY/TDD, phoneline, or no radio.  Nothing at home.  I can not imagine how I live without those?  I raised by hearing parent and I been learned a lot in hearing world, never know about deaf world till I got older.   I mean, I been play with deaf kids when I was young but I did not realized till got older when met more deaf people.   I still learning and always have fun!

Those deaf has different background and very interesting to hear about them, like I said in other post about diversity part.
